I glued together, edge to edge, and than drilled and ran two long threaded rods through the edges so the pads would not split with weight on them, two 2"thick x 6"W x 14"L cedar (light weight) planks. 45 degree slope on each end. I installed a cheap handle on one edge for easy access. I place one pad under each foot of our 6 point level system. This keeps the metal pads off the hot top, grass, gravel and spreads out our footprint. Works great.
