So, we bought a truck last year on a whim (Ram 1500), and then bought a rig. Didn't plan the 2 purchases out very well. Technically the 5er is within the specs of the truck....but we towed over I-70...

For the last couple of years we have stayed in one place 2-3 months and up to 5 months.While we are parked for the winter,here in AZ,most of our trips are short,2-5 miles.It does not seem to do any damage to our Ram diesel.I do make sure that it gets regular oil and filter changes and I manage to hit the intrerstate once in a while to make the engine feel like a diesel,as you noticed in your test drive.(You like that diesel,you know you do.)'Sup to you now!
