My 2 reasons for always thinking I needed to steer clear of a diesel are: 1) my short driving jaunts, and 2) the extra cost of buying/maintaining a diesel.
Hubby and I have possibly come to a decision. He actually works in Wyoming and drives 50 miles one way every day (and drives a jetta TDI and loves the diesel). So - he has agreed it would be good for him to learn to drive a truck and, maybe, (gasp) actually learn to pull the FW! He will drive the truck 1 time a week to work the engine.
Now, just to tackle the cost. We can afford it. We are on the fast track to retire by our early 50's free and clear :). Soooo.....guess I'll be visiting the Ford dealers this weekend.
Thank you all for your input and "mostly" not getting off track on why I was pulling the FW with the 1500 in the first place :P We all make mistakes, at least I own it and I'm fixing it before it was catastrophic!
I know you have stated you have a "Looks" issue with the RAM, but would encourage you to also visit your Ram dealer again and test drive the Ram AFTER you test the Ford.
