As for the OP, here are some of my observations
.) Use NADA as GUIDE but keep in mind it can be very inaccurate as to what the market is doing in different parts of the country. Some RV's can sell for 10 times the NADA value while others won't bring half so use it as a guide and spend some time shopping both in your local area and on the internet to get an idea.
.) If your buying from a dealer, most will require a holding deposit and will check the unit out. You want to make sure you have in writing that your deposit is 100% refundable if something does not work out. For example if you can't get the unit financed or there is something wrong that the dealer is not willing to fix.
.) Go through the RV with the dealer and make sure everything is working and you are happy prior to paying the balance. If you are not happy with something, don't pay for it until they fix it to your satisfaction or you can get your deposit back and keep shopping.
.) Ask around your local area. Current and previous customers will let you know in a hurry if there is a good, trustworthy dealer and even if they had a salesmen they did or did not like.
.) Ask the dealer to not only show you that everything is working but also how it operates so when you get out to use it you have some idea of where things are located and how they operate.
.) As for financing, check with your bank or credit union for rates and terms. Then ask the dealer what they can offer. Sometimes a dealer can beat it and sometimes they can't. Go with whoever gives you the best rates and terms.
.) Have fun and happy camping!
