Wow! So much to learn!!
So, will they plug everything up and let me check things out to make sure everything works before we come to a price agreement?
Are you saying that if I buy used, I have to take a trailer that might have a fridge that doesn't work?
Here in BC they have to do a safety check of propane system, they check all components and if an appliance does not work they have to get it to work.
On ours I did make a checklist of things to look for and what I saw that needed attention, had them go over the seams and they did some resealing.
They had replace a couple vent caps, but missed one, I missed some damage to a rain gutter, and do not know if they damaged it or the previous owner, so missed out on getting it fixed, but it did go through a PDI and I did do a walk through before we bought of course and after they did their work, ran the stove oven, fridge and furnace plus the A/C to make sure all was well, they did offer a warranty on appliances as I recall, but I did not take it and so far nothing has failed.
Propane detectors are only good for 10 years, and I did have to replace one once on the second fifth we bought.
So maybe you can ask for a new one, I did get them to throw in a big mat for outside.
Up in BC they do give out a starter kit, which has a roll of TP, sewer hose, water pressure regulator a small bubble level, toilet chemical.
But like someone said it is like a house, do a good inspection, check floors and ceilings, especially in cupboards, look for soft spots, not good if you find a soft spot, try to get up and look at roof.
Just some ideas.
Oh and run the pump and see how it sounds.
