What options are there for short 5th's with slides?

My issue with the Travel Trailer is it is like towing a huge sail behind my 1/2 ton truck. Any side winds and it gets real scary, really fast.

We went down to Moab a few years ago with our Keystone 23' and I was amazed how many campgrounds we could BARELY get into. We ended up staying on a gravel parking lot that was called an "RV Park" in town as we just didn't fit into anything else. That is when I got the epiphany that maybe smaller is better.
