What Roof System On 1998/1999 Teton 5er's ?

I'm hoping I might connect here with another Teton 5th wheel owner.
Are there any late 1990's Teton owners here ? If so could you check your owners manual regarding what roofing product they installed?
I have a 1998 39' Denver model and I have no owners manuals or products manuals on anything. The previous owner's son inherited it and could not find any paperwork on it. Because I have no factory to contact and no owners manuals I don't know if this roof system is EPDM or ALPHA or VINYL. I've owned motor homes with EPDM roofs and this Teton roof membrane seems more like a rubberized vinyl product to me rather than rubber. The existing membrane is chalky to the touch though. I have no idea what an ALPHA roofing system looks like.
The roof is original and has never been coated. I'm pressure washing the roof tomorrow and I am planning on removing all old cracked sealants at all roof penetrations and coating the entire roof with EPDM RV Coating.
I hear that EPDM cannot be applied to the ALPHA system (at least not without a primer) so I won't rest easy until I know what I'm dealing with here.

Any info from someone in the know would sure be appreciated. TIA
  • Yes your info helps. This would confirm what looks like and feels like a canvas or vinyl material. Well this is good news. EPDM RV Coating LLC. can be directly applied to the vinyl system with no primer necessary. I really appreciate the help. Thank you. Bob
  • I have a brochure from 2002 for Tetons. I wish I had one from 1999, but tossed it out a few yrs ago. In 2002,they show the roof construction and call the roof a "vinyl poly film membrane." It had a 12 year warranty and was not supposed to chalk, fade, mildew, or discolor ( according to the brochure). Hope the info helps!
