I have a 1993 Coachmen Catalina 24' fifth wheel. Everything on it works perfect, stove, fridge, water heater, ac, etc. I replaced the blue carpet with laminate flooring and the upholstery is in great shape. The exterior and the awning is in ok shape for a 1993.It,s a smaller 5th wheel that makes it legal to pull a boat or other trailer behind it here in MN. It has a receiver hitch for just that. Minnesota is a huge fishing state and lots of campers also fish and boat here.The only problem is the roof is completely shot. It leaks and parts of it are rotten. I think the whole thing needs to be torn off and replaced. At least the back half anyway.What do you think I could get for it? I'm just not up to the project and it's time for something different anyway. Do you think there are many people out there that would take on a project like this, if so how much do you think they would pay? I'm hoping I could get at least a couple grand for it since everything else is in good shape. What do you think?

Somebody might buy that for a permanent location and just put a metal roof on it. You may get $1,500 or better out of it.

nobody will pay much for it. I've been doing repairs and renovations for years on campers. You are better off parting it out. Fridge is 300-400 by itself, then sell ac unit, holding tanks, stove, microwave, dinette, sofa, and any other good working parts. then sell the empty camper to someone who wants to make a utility trailer out of it or use it for storage

For 5,000 one can pick up an older RV that is in GREAT shape without leaks and has been maintained. Not sure what you are adding in but you don't add in items that are standard such as fridge, awning, oven, AC, etc. Part it out and drag it to a recycle center.

Sadly, no newer, bigger 5er is in my immediate future. I was pulling this one with my half ton Dode truck and it is not in the cards to purchase a new camper AND truck at this time. We are actually thinking of going back down to a pop-up again because it would actually fit our style of camping better plus it would be a lot easier on my aging truck and easier to store.

Last Fall we sold our 25 ft. 1999 Jayco with no slides for $3,600 and glad to get that. It was in good shape, looked nice and the roof had just been recoated(not replaced). The problem with yours is that roof replacement may be more than the value of the trailer.

And when it's all over with..you have a yard full of junk, half the old parts don't sell and you have a carcass to get rid of. What's the most you could get for the parts, if you can sell them at all....Take whatever someone will give you for it and move on...For sale, best offer on Craigs.

Lucky to get $1K on Craigslist.

Either sell it there or part it out. The donation thing doesn't work well anymore for tax purposes, you can only deduct what the gaining charity actually sells it for. IRS plugged that hole a few years ago.

Real life experance!
About six years ago we bought a 1986 28' King of the Road for $1,500 that had a soft floor and needed tires before a 150 mile tow home. Tires were $400 the cost of materials to repair the back 6' of the floor and 2/3 of the back wall and the lower 1/3 of the back 10' of the drivers side wall was about $400. We also replaced the cooling unit on the refer. We now had one nice older 5er, well we wanted a larger unit so put on the market just over two years ago for $3,800 and sold it for $3,000. We feel we did ok,
With a rotten leaky roof you will need to find someone with the skills to repair and the desire to get a deal.

You do know not to include items that are standard on your rig, they are included in the list (retail) price. I didn't see you list anything that isn't standard.

But with all the water damage, only the appliances and frame are worth anything...

...and yes, I've rebuilt rigs that were not as damaged as this one sounds.
