So within the last hour and a half or so my trailer smells like eggs and farts. Sorry I don't know how else to explain the smell. At first I thought it was my dog but further investigation shows its coming from under the cabinets. Not the sink cabinet either the one by the door under the stove. Their is a black pipe there that goes from the sink then splits up the wall and underneath the trailer. It even smells in the bread box cabinet. And when you bend down by the door right above the floor its horrible. I've smelled the underbelly and its not there. Not around my fridge or bedroom/bathroom. I've aired it out and it goes away but as soon as I close the door again its back. The only thing I've done today that I don't do everyday is drain the black tank. But it never smells like this when I empty it. I always close my Grey tanks when I empty it also. I think that black pipe is the culprit but I don't know what it is exactly.

Either the batteries or hot water heater.

Or the black tank or lp. turn off the lp bottles to be safe and check the toilet valve(s).

I turned my hot water on and smelled it but their isn't an odor and it tastes normal. Unless its the actual hot water heater? I went underneath to where its at and there's was no smell there either.

Dry battery burning up. Probably ran dry of water.

I just filled the black with water and dish soap hoping that it might clean some nasty stuff out. Over the summer I kept the black tank clean every time I dumped I rinsed it out with the hose adapter. But haven't done it at all this winter.

One of our Shelties who has passed on loved to sleep right in front of the steps leading up to the bath/bedroom where he could see the front door. Of course, the LP detector was mounted in the kick board of the bottom step. So, suffice it to say we always knew when the dog, uhhhh, had an event.

And yes we leave both greys open all the time but not the black.

I leave 'both' tanks closed all the time when parked with sewer hook up.

The gray tank needs water to 'move' things along too. Bits of food, water you cook foods in, dirty dish water,greasy plates when you wash them, etc will just stick to the bottom if you don't have any water in it like when you leave it open and go rancid if you don't leave the tank fill up with water.

I have been parked next to MH's in areas where they allow you to dump the gray on the ground. And it STINKS almost as bad a dumping your black tank. I will never stay at a place that allows discharging of gray water EVER EVER again it stunk so bad.

FYI, If you think you may have a gas leak lighting a fire is not the way to look for it. You could blow up the whole trailer and yourself. You are scaring me and I am not in the trailer! Call a service man before you kill yourself or someone else!

I had this exact same problem.....turned out to be something fermenting in my grey tank....whooa was that nasty! Filled the tank 3/4 full with water & a little bleach....drove to my next campground (1 hr ride) and drained it....flushed it 2 more times and no more odor. I had always emptied both grey tanks between trips...that was my downfall. Now I keep a few gallons water/chemicals in all 3 tanks

I have smelly hot water and I was told the anode changed that and flushed the tank out still there, the water stills smells?

Yeah that's what I thought to that it might be empty but I unhooked it and picked it up and its still pretty full. I'm hoping it doesn't happen again and it can just be some freak thing that only happens once! *fingers crossed*

It could be the odorant from the propane. Sometimes they smell when the tank is getting empty. Another possible cause is a bad catalytic converter on your vehicle or one nearby. They smell like rotten eggs when they go bad.
