Like noted...forget the DRY WEIGHTS and the truck manufacturers tow rating.
The manufacturers maximize the false tow rating using a base model truck with no accessories, no options, a 150 driver and no other passengers and no hitch.
The ONLY way to know for sure is to loaded up the truck, full fuel, passengers and hitch and get the truck weighed. Add 150 to 200# for a hitch.
GCWR - loaded truck = MAXIMUM loaded trailer weight.
GVWR - loaded truck = MAXIMUM loaded trailer pin weight.
With a typical 5er, the pin weight will be about 20% of the trailer GVWR. Look at the storage on a 5er...it is all forward of the axles which put the weight on the pin and the truck.
The problem with a SRW and 3/4 ton truck is the limited GVWR and the rear axle GAWR. You will reach GVWR long before you reach GCWR.
On another note, rear the small print under the fictitious trailer tow rating and you will find a note stating something to the effect that you are not to exceed any of the ratings...GAWR, GVWR or GCWR.
