Hi all; Can the Xwheel stabilizer product or the wheel stop product be used in place of conventional wheel chocks when unhooking or hooking up a fifth wheel trailer? Comments please. Jim2007
X-chocks stop back/forth rocking motion BUT are NOT 'recommended' in lieu of wheel chocks.
The two together work best.
Wheel chocks to stop the rig from rolling away and the X-chocks to help with that 'boat on water' feeling
I have used just X-chocks (both sides) on my 5vr but only on fairly level sites. ANY slope for/aft I wheel chock first then x-chock and recheck that evening
Wheel Stop....? Is that a different product or different description of X-Chocks?
I have a set of X chocks. I've looked at this myself and I don't think it would be wise. If you raise or lower the front of the trailer, the wheels actually move a little bit closer or farther apart. Same goes for setting the stab jacks and lifting one side of the trailer slightly. So you could set the X-chocks in one position and they could get very loose just by making an adjustment.
