When to use water pressure regulator on fiver?

Recently we were at a campground that had 40psi for water coming into our fiver. Normally we've seen 50+ or 60+. The question I have is if water pressure is low I am guessing you do not need a regul...

I too use one now all the time... Got full of myself and skipped it a few times last year... Got to a CG that evidently had very high pressure and DW saw the warning signs but did not think I needed to know.. Sprung a leak...won't forget mine again !!! Like already stated.. If it is high.. It will lower it... If it is low..it will stay low..Joe
