I don't get why someone wouldn't use one. They are only a few dollars and they may save a camping trip. I have always said that it takes one incident like a flat tire or something stupid like that to ruin a trip. When you look back on that trip you will only remember the incident not all the fun you had with your family. I for one always use one, I know I may never need it but what does it hurt to use it. I also will never hook to campground electrical with out a surge protector. To me the simple insurance (regulator, surge protector, etc...) is worth it so I don't have to worry about things like that. Just my .02.
