where did you buy wheels/tires

I am in the market for new 16" wheels and LT tires. I like the idea of ordering online and having them shipped mounted/balanced so I can put them on at my leisure in front of my house.

Where did/would you buy? Online? What website? Local tire shop? Who will not have a problem with LTs on a trailer? Any help would be appreciated.

Ask for Scott - he will take good care of you. This is where I upgraded to 17.5" wheels and Michelin XTA tires (shipped premounted and balanced with center caps and lug nuts) for our previous Mobile Suites.

Another enthusiastic recommendation. Their prices beat another vendor by $400 for my setup.

I just switched out my 5er from ST to LT this week at a local wheel/tire shop. They had no problems with switching them out and in fact said they had other customers who had gone to LT tires for their trailers. They didn't specifically say why but it seemed to be a switch that was common to them. I had them do everything and it was easy to just pull the 5er in and wait while the work was done.
  • I can't help you with the wheel part. Perhaps someone will chime in with the website to order them. I went with LTs after reading much discussion here. Many have had discount /chain tire stores refuse to put LTs on an RV (Specifically a tire type no on the placard). I did not have that experience here with a regional chain. I took my wheels off the 5er myself and took them in to have the tires mounted as there was no space to pull the trailer in to the lot. They knew they were for a trailer but mounted & balanced them anyway. My advice would be to call ahead and ask.
