Which is better the Montana or Cedar Creek 5th wheel

Please let me know the details about the Montana and the Cedar Creek 5th wheels. We are looking to purchase a 5th wheel and have so many positives and negatives about each we really do not know which is built the best to last. This is our first one. We own a travel trailer presently and love the experience but are ready to move up.
Thanks
  • We have a early 2014 Cedar Creek 34 RLSA. This is our fourth fifth wheel. With over 120 nights in it so far, we really like Cedar Creek. Only been back to the dealer once for warranty work, slide adjustment. Have an issue with the front Gel Coat cap starting to fade and Forest River has approved a repair for that. I think Cedar Creek is a great value for the money. Buying from a good dealer that will take care of things is important. I traveled 150 miles from home but my dealer is the best. I would not hesitate to buy CC again.
  • Montana's walls are vacuum bonded while the Cedar Creek uses Silaprene glue to fasten the outer fiberglass to the studs. Can't delam. Also the Nobel Classic gel coated exterior wall panels are standard on the CK and an option on the Montana in the Luxury Edition option.
Two really different build designs as far as how the walls, floor and roof are attached. After that it would boil down to personal taste as far as décor and layout.
  • Hello Minnesota. I was raised in MN and have lived and worked in AZ for the past 30 years. Lived on Woman Lake. Love it. Hated the terrible cold of winter. Miss it 3 seasons out of the year.
Thanks for your thoughts. We are really torn on which way to go. I want to make the right choice like anyone would and do not want any hassle with anything.
  • Cedar Creek has a lot of features Montana doesn't even offer. In addition their prices for upgrades are among the lowest I've seen. It would be an easy choice for me. Haven't talked to a Cedar Creek owner yet that wasn't very satisfied with the product and service..

  • We have looked at Cedar Creek and Montana and placed them pretty much equal. We stepped it up a notch and bought a HitchHiker Champagne Edition.

  • OK I'll give you my prospective. Back in 2005 we looked at Montana, were not really impressed with build quality. Bought a Cedar Creek and could not be more pleased. We lived in it full time for most of the last year. Outstanding customer service and honestly in the last year is the first time I have had issues that need attention, other than routine maintenance.
  • Thank you for your comments. Greatly appreciated.
  • I can only speak of my Montana. Bought new July 2007. Had a minor wiring problem corrected after about 3 weeks. Still have the trailer and it has never been back for any repairs.
The convection/microwave did fail after about 3 years. Replaced it myself. No name DVD/sound system failed after about 4 years. I replaced that with a Panasonic Blu-ray DVD/surround sound system. Replaced the Chinese tires with Michelin XPS Ribs even though I had no problems with the original tires. No problems with the trailer itself.
Could not be happier with it.
