Which One? Bighorn 3055RL v.s. Sunnybrook 34RL

Hello all. I need a good nudge.

I've had my fun in my 34ft Class A motorhome...tons of great adventures exploring in that cozy unit! Sometime ago I decided on selling the coach and utilizing my idle Dodge 2500 Cummins by going back to RVing in a Fifth Wheel.

My fiver choices were narrowed down to 32-34ft, 3 or more slides, a sizable desk station, 2006 or newer, and a max price of $24,000 (equals the sale of motorhome)

So far, so good. I've researched extensively for many weeks and think I have narrowed it down to these final contestants for my money.

1. 2006 Heartland Bighorn 3055RL

2. 2009 Sunnybrook Brookside 34RL

Spotless, both are in well-cared-for condition and within less than $900 difference in asking price. Both are towable/brakable with my 3/4 ton pickup.

So now I am at the end of my search. Down to these TWO. I am asking this forum of experienced RVers for their help in making this choice. I'm ready to buy now and head south before the next blizzard hits western South Dakota!!

Note: The only fifth wheel I have owned was a well-optioned 2001 Montana 3280RL ...which served us well for 3 years.

Thanks for your recommendations. Love this forum.

I own a Heartland Big Horn 3055RL, I would suggest you go to the Heartland Forum and ask your questions from people who actually own Big Horns. I really like the 3055 and it has served us well. I am on the road about 6 months a year. The Heartland warranty and customer service has been outstanding.
  • We purchased a Sunnybrook fiver some 15 years ago, still on the road today. Really have had no real problems with it, other that it was hit last year by a distracted driver, 2500 dollars damage, repaired. All in all, I think it is a well made unit. They are now owned by Winnebago Industries. Happened about 3 years ago.
  • We really enjoyed our Big Horn 3055RL and Heartland was nice to deal with. Don't know a thing about the Sunnybrook.
