Who are the better 5th wheeler manufacturers?

Everyone has there own opinion I know but any feedback would be great.
We have researched travel trailers & had some great feedback on those but have maybe realised we may need or want a FW instead.
So give me your input, please! Who is well respected as a FW manufacturer?
Or what do you own & do you love it?
Cheers!

Have been concentrating on floor plan, length of unit & reputation at the moment as we will purchase tow vehicle to suit. What are Forrest river & Palomino reputations like?

Are Palomino made by Forrest river as well? :h
  • I would recommend staying away from Heartland products, even some dealers are dropping them. Quality has dropped the last couple of years. I have 2013 Landmark and have used it about 4 times every time it goes out something else goes out (air conditioner, refrig, hydraulic hose, new mother board when I picked it up

Another great looking unit is the Trilogy. It has high ceilings, fiberglass roof, and residential type appliances.

Looks are not what you should be going on, weight, usage, reputation of manufacturer, options, length of unit, what can you tow with your tow vehicle?

  • Sorry, should of mentioned we are looking for a FW with triple bunks and preferably under 35ft.
All of the above already mentioned don't fall into this category, but thanks anyway for responses.
Have found some in the Forrest river range who seem to make a trillion different brands and Palomino. Can anyone comment on what these manufacturers are like?
JRS & B, For travel use in USA.

  • There are many manufacturers in the US, but you are in Australia. Is this a fiver you intend to use in the US or in AU?

Do you actually need a four-season unit for any particular reason? If so, there are units like the Mobile Suites family of trailers. But they tend to be heavier and obviously more expensive.

If you do not need a Mobile Suites type unit, then explore others.

My personal preference, in light of how many companies are now no longer in production, would be to start with a big company.

I would use something like the Montana Big Sky as the starting point to make my comparisons with. I can't imagine us ever needing more RV than that.

Another consideration if you are looking higher end, and if this is sort of a once in a lifetime purchase, you might want to get a unit with a fiberglass roof instead of rubber.
  • Price range has a lot to do with things. Medium priced Arctic Fox from Northwood Industries are great units. Higher up the food chain are the likes of Mobile Suites. And Heartland. We have a Cedar Creek and still like it even after 8 years. Durable, well built and decentrices for what you get.
