who here has camped at Mineral Creek CO?

Want to try our first time at boondocking while in CO in a week. It apears you can camp in a dispersed fashion along the river on the way the the Mineral Creek Campground. Anyone boondocked in this area before? Safe for a wife and kid? I have a 24 TH and 4x4 Diesel so I don't think access will pose an issue but I may be wrong. I don't have any ATVs but my buddy who we are meeting up with does and it appears this is a good spot to ride from. Any advice welcomed

    Just down to the first part of it.
    I don't know how full it is.
    We were looking for wildlife.

    Thanks Jay - did you drive all the way back to the CG? if so was it full?

    Drove by there yesterday.
    If I were to boondock, I would stay there.
    I like hookups and I am staying in Silverton.
    There is a lot of vehicles for rent in town.
