Which begs the question, why would people think one placarded weight is enforceable and others on the same placard not be enforceable? Wishful thinking?.
On some vehicles it could be possible to load them in a way to exceed a single axle's rating without exceeding the vehicles GVWR.
In BC licensed weight has nothing to do with GVWR, Licensing for a higher weight than your GVWR does not increase the manufacturer"s GVWR, it just lets you contribute more than you need to for the damage you do to BC's roads. In short, licensing for more than your truck's placard GVWR is a waste of money.
You can however license for less than your GVWR if you do not use your truck's maximum capacity and save a bit on licensing. Like when airlines using large aircraft on shorter routes will register them for lower than the manufacturer's max takeoff and landing weights in order to save on landing fees.
