Why No Goosenecks?
It seems like all RV travel trailers are fivers, and only construction related flatbeds or horse trailers are goosenecks. Is that pretty much true? And why is that? It seems like a gooseneck hitch ...

That is "considered" a 5th wheel hitch, Not a GN, no safety chains required. When we were looking for an alternative to NO picture frame adapter for the GN/5er prep package that Ram initiated this year, one member did some research and found the Reese Elite drop in ball worked perfectly in the center hold of Ram's GN prep package, locked right in. Then he found the Andersen Ultimate 5er hitch, which is triangular in footprint, and the ball is on top, approx. 18" above the bed of the truck...The hitch comes with a "Part B" that mounts to your king pin...pretty clever...If my picture frame adapter hadn't come in when it did, I was about to pull the trigger on getting one.
