Why understate the length

I bought a new 28' toyhauler. When I measured the outside of the box for a cover, I was shocked that it was 33' long (not including hitch). Why do manufacturers do that?

  • The 28IBG model number has nothing to do with its actual length, it’s just a model number.

Where did you get the 28' length?

Attitude Website shows 34'4" Over All Length
  • Years ago we were looking at a certain "28" model floor plan that just about everybody made. They were all about 29 actual feet long.
We were thrilled when we found a great one that was extra roomy inside.
Then I found out why; it was 33 feet long.
  • My 24 SLE is 26ft 9in just the box. Didn't really care but it was unexpected.
  • If your looking at the model number then it has zero corolation to the actual size.
  • I have been told the measurement is inside front wall to inside back wall. In other words, living space.
  • They dont have to measure the a frame or the bumper I think?

My 20 foot is closer to 25 foot
  • Nobody knows. Mine is several feet longer than the specs say it is.
