That is rather odd, but if you don't need the full width it's pretty nice. We don't have a lot of counter space in our RV, so we bought a large over the stove cutting board with the anti-slip pad, when we don't use our stove we can use it if we are using the stove we can place it over the sink. Trade off's with anything just need to figure out what you are willing to give up.
