In the north in those states, you might see "snow" in February.  It will be what you call "flurries" but everyone will freak out, dance in it and yell "it's snowing!!!!" lol. Schools will be shut down for the day and it will all melt the next day.
Southern areas of those states might every decade or so see flurries.
We have had many a thanksgiving and Christmas wearing shorts and t shirts. For you, if you are trying to escape the snow and cold, I imagine it would be quite lovely.
I wear flip flops with my jeans for as long as I can go, usually at least through December.
