- fuzzdrExplorerno sympathy from this end; I just came in from working to remove >6ft of snow that crowns my fifth wheel. After 2 days, I am less than half done. At least today is not approaching minus 30C- first time in a very long time. Ontario Canada. After the camper, I move on to clearing several boats, a house, a workshop, a garage and a shed. Any volunteers.......
- VulcaneerExplorerBut it's a dry cold.
'Cept, when it snows. - travelnutzExplorer IIWe're in Central Florida and it was 41 degrees when talking to my younger brother back on the Lake Michigan shoreline west of Grand Rapids on the phone last night. He turned his laptop puter cam on his indoor/outdoor electronic weather station and linked it to my laptop. 33.6 F at 10:23 pm, 32% humidity. 1 mph wind from the WSW, readout said: feels like 32.9. Then he turned the cam out the window towards the street under the streetlight. Bare dry driveway and asphalt road with a couple wet spots near the edges in front of his home. Plowed snow looked like about half way up his maibox post and behind the mail box along the road way. It's a local dead end street and he's about halfway down it in the township outside the city. They really do keep the roads well plowed where we live and always have! We're 1240 miles south and a whopping 7.4 degrees warmer!!!
- SkiSmuggsExplorerAfter weeks of brutal sub-zero and highs in the single digits (if that), it is supposed to hit 30 today and 35 tomorrow. Even 20 seems cold to me now as we may have chilled to the bone.
Punxatawney Phil as a weather man can't be good;
He should go back to just chucking wood! - MartynNomadIt's all caused by Global Warming...... :B
- Deb_and_Ed_MExplorer IIWe just returned to Michigan, from visiting the sun in FLA for a couple of weeks. It was a nice break and I have a little better attitude towards the mountainous snow piles/drifts....and oh yeah - we have another foot+ headed our way tomorrow. Once I unpack the 5er - I'm getting on the snowmobile. Might as well have some fun because this sure isn't going away any time soon....

When it snows at virginia beach it time to head to AZ.:C
Shepherd really made me chuckle. I lived in Central NY for 35 years and can empathize with everyone enduring the cold and snow. Now living in Virginia Beach, I can say "when it snows in Virginia Beach it is time to stay off the roads". At 10" we were close to one of the top 10 storms. Amazing that the grocery stores were packed and the 3 network TV stations had "continuous snow coverage". I cannot lose my Yankee, must still shovel the driveway even though it will melt in a couple days.
I feel sorry for folks who have to endure this on into April.
Time to head to Florida.... - Bill1374ExplorerI agree. I got tired of the zeros and below with single digit highs so I packed up and left NY. First day here in Florida was great, high 60s. Now that dang front is locked in and is been 45 for 2 days and its a damp cold. Weatherman promises warming starting this afternoon. Can't wait.
- MFLNomad IIIt is bad enough to have the brutal cold, but this winter has also had a more than normal amount of high winds. I have 2 snowmobiles, so do get some enjoyment out of winter.
Cold and wind is not good for anything!
