Winterizing

Hello,
I have a 2002 Coachmen Somerset fifth wheel and I cannot get it to take the anti-freeze. I have the valves set right according to the diagram, but it won't pull the anti freeze in. Any suggestions?
Thanks

    +1

The pump will run all day and not do anything until you open a faucet.
  • I have to prime my pump by filling the hose then sticking it into the bottle of antifreeze. You dont have to fill the whole hose just about 2/3 full. Once it starts sucking the antifreeze just be sure to not let the jug run dry.
  • My intake has to be higher for the pump to draw-I use a large funnel held up high and pour in AF in the funnel. It will not draw from the bottle.

  • Do you have the bottle of antifreeze higher than the inlet valve doing the sucking?
  • Hi
Thank you for your reply. The valves are in the front storage compartment by the pump. It acts as if the pump is not sucking it out of the bottle. There is a diagram showing the position for the valves and I have them there. The owners manual is not very much help,it shows the procedure for a motor home with about 4 different valves.
    Thank you

  • The valves you talked about were they at the water heater and the water pump? If just water heater you will need to turn the valve at the water pump, then place suction hose into your gal anti.
