I don't think the walls of the 30WR or WRS has aluminum in them. They are FRP siding basically plywood with a fiberglass outer shell. Not that it makes any difference for what you would like to do. At first I was thinking this might not be a good Idea but then I remembered reading about a guy that attached a huge canopy next to his work and play and I found the picture. Maybe give you something to think about. I don't have any details how he attached it but it looks like a nice setup.

Maybe you can improve on your technique for setting up the tent. something like this. These guys set up each leg one at a time then raise the center pole.
