Thank you Y-Guy and longtrailer48.
The ceiling leak in the front sleeper cabin was noticed April 6, 2008 when our toyhauler was 8 months old. The roof looked fine except where the dealer had recaulked an area on the front cap last July before we picked up the trailer. We were told by the dealer that it was only a decorative cover and could not be leaking there. The rubber roof is intact.
They are saying we need two (maybe three) sheets of plywood and two rafters and the insulation is moldy and then a new rubber roof as this one will be ripped in the removal process. And two ceiling panels and it looks like the emergency window is leaking too. Possible damage under the sleeping platform from that leak. (They have not gotten permission to "tear into it and know for sure."
Don't get me wrong, we love our Weekend Warrior trailer and are disappointed with not getting to use it and mostly that the "best warranty in the industry" is not resposive to product defects nor their authorized dealers. We have had two dealers involved as the first dealership did not have facilities nor technicians to make the repairs. Both dealers have complaints that Weekend Warrior will not answer the phone nor return calls. We have, of course, have had the same experience with our numerous calls.
Does anyone know a good custom builder/repair service if Weekend Warrior is bankrupt? I know this repair is not rocket science, just requires a person with skill. I'd rather pay someone to fix it right than a lawyer who will cost more than the repair and more months than we want to invest.
Would much rather be singing Weekend Warriors praises for making good on their claims though.
Thank you. Sandollarchaser.
