I've been looking at all three. I like the idea of the yxz without a belt and the paddle shift. The RZR to me, has been around and seems to be the best one for all the options and looks.Now the X3 has that evil bat mobil look that I like. But, there are so many different models and prices. Can someone break down what are the differences between all the X3s? I have notice they have 1 model wider than the other.Hopefully to be buying early next year. Ive watched many YouTube vids on the them head to head. It's seems its all about preference really.I don't care about the turbo options. Just would like general opinions on all 3.

This could start a Cheby vs Furd match but hope not...I picked up one of the first X3's in my area and can tell you it is one impressive machine. I could go on and on about it.I wont badmouth the competition but you can find out a lot about them with a little research.What type of terrain do you ride and are you certain a "SPORT" UTV is what your after??? If sport, then definitely checkout the X3. Its tops in the segment IMO. For now anyway...

Definitely a preference thing - I got a RZR 800 4 seater, we aren’t the lastest and greatest but we have just as much fun as the rest of them. Whatever you decide I’m sure you will enjoy every minute of it.

If you are riding in a group or group of friends, everyone carries spare parts and will share/help when things break. I chose the RZR for this reason, since my friends and the majority of the group I joined run the RZR's.

Friend of mine went from RZR 800 to 1000. After driving another friends Turbo X3, he sold his RZR and bought one too.

Polaris has been around the longest with the RZR, so the amount of upgrade parts and support is the best out of the group even if the vehicle may not be the best when OEM outfitted. They have a good range of products but choosing which one is the best for you can be overwhelming for a first time owner. Some dealerships will try to push stock on hand rather than the best fitting model which does not help. Yamaha has taken a chance with its manual shifting YXZ. I know two owners that went from buggies to the Yamaha because they did not want a CVT. The negatives for the Yamaha are poor slow speed capabilities due to gearing and a soft frame that easily bends. There are aftermarket upgrades that help, but this machine was designed for open space more than technical riding.Can-Am is not popular in my area for UTV's, so I don't have any guidance or reflection on their models.Arctic Cat gets a lot of grief in my area as the vehicle that always has to be towed back to camp. I'm not sure if it is a bias in the groups I know or if there is some data to support this. They recently redesigned the cage because it was a known safety issue on that machine.I drive cheap China built vehicles. They are not as capable or durable, but the value for the dollar is there even with the occasional failures. Expect to be your own service center and order all your parts online if you choose one of these. If you enjoy wrenching on your equipment they are easy to work on but it's not one of those machines where you drop it off at the dealer and it comes back working. Mine are are still going after 9 years of use, so they will last if you take care of them.

Now if you are going to stick to the non-turbo models and 2 seaters I would go with the Yamaha, nothing beats their reliability, and no belt is a huge bonus....now for turbos... wait for the Textron (Articat) Wildcat Turbo, they have been using the Yamaha engine with a turbo in their snowmobiles for a few years (200+ HP) and rumor is they are going to put it in a wildcat.

I wish I were in the market, looks like fun trying to decide.

The X3 models are based on HP?

Turbos are an option but not a need.

I'm looking for all around riding. Sand, dirt, trail. I know these wide SxS are not ideal for trails. But, I'll manage.

They all use belts except the YXZ. No belt sounds nice but the YXZ is pretty limited in slow technical terrain. A high strung (11k RPM redline) engine combined with a gearbox and clutch makes for a lot of work.

Changing belts is not that bad. I can do my X3 in 10min on the side of the trail if I need to. To me a small price to pay for the great drivibility you get with a CVT in about any type of condition.

People buy “sport” UTVs for the performance and why I wouldnt pass on a turbo model. If turbo/performance is not high on you list maybe look at something like the new Yamaha Wolverine X4.

That was before they released the X3 RC (Rock Crawler). Only reason RZR gets the nod in the Visco Loc that Can-am has used for years is not a true locker. There are aftermarket options such as Halo and Torq lockers for the X3.

If you watch/read the various reviews, most of them will say the best for you will depend on the type of riding you do. RZR seems to better reviewed for trail riding, X3 for dunes, and YXZ is better at high speeds unless you get the optional clutch. All 3 are good machines, and I don't think you could go wrong with any of them. Just like buying a truck, look t them all and get the one you like the best and will fit your needs and wants the best.

They need to do better at making a rumble seat in the load bed with 4-point harnesses and an extended cage. Sealed storage compartments behind the front seats could be converted to foot wells. This would appeal to those on tighter trails or with shorter trailers. I think Honda has something like this but the rest of the vehicle is lacking.

Another reason is low end torque, the RZR will take the X3 off the line to about 20mph then it is all X3 dominance.
