Xantrex Freedom 458 install

I am planning to install an old Xantrex inverter into my 5ver. The model number is 81-2022-12....it is rated at 2000 continuous watts. I will use 4 golf cart batteries. I will likely be mounting the inverter about 8 feet from the batteries. I'm wondering whether 2/0 battery cable is overkill for this installation?

    Go as big as you can fit into the lug on the inverter. 2/0 may not fit.

    I only go about 3 feet and I went with 4/0. You can buy the wire, lugs and heat shrink on Amazon and build your own cables. Be sure to get the welding cable. It's very flexible considering the size (think garden hose).

    I have not looked at Xantrex but A couple 2000W inverters I have looked at specify 2/0 and a couple have looked at specified 4/0. Look at the install specs for yours to determine what Xantrex requires.
