I might used self-tapping screws at the bottom. But not at the top. There wont upward pulling force at the bottom, like there is at the top.
You will like being able to see how bikes ride going down the road, but there isn't much to see. Ours hardly ever moved.
I saw that already. I was pretty impressed. Mine is threaded bolts- we'll see how they hold up. The marketing/sales side of this will likely be on hold. :)

My Thule rack has a screw in place of a pin. It takes the slop out of the rack and receiver tube.
