I have the Provider ST tires, that Jim mentioned above. They came on my FW, and have been great tires, after several years of use. They are also speed rated to 81 mph.

Those Provider ST tires have been out for around 5 years now. Starlite and PJ trailers started using them on their larger commercial trailers and reports from their commercial customers have said their getting 40k-50k miles of service. ST tires use a thin 10/32nds or 11/32nds so they simply can't get the 60k-70k miles that a LT can with thicker tread.
These folks need a tire that can stand max loads at legal speeds every day which is 75 mph on many of our interstates in my state.
Carlisle finished their new RH radial ST tire testing in late '11 so in early '12 they hit the dealers shelves. ST tires have come a long way depending on brand.
If I was in the market for a ST tire it would be for one of the new speed rated ST tires which leaves the less than steller Maxxis ST 8008 out. At some point Maxxis will have to upgrade the 8008 to compete in the reliability area.
