I just got my Yokohama YK-HTX Mounted and balanced! Look great and the 5er pulled very nicely with them. Let Discount Tire do all the work, just made sure they jacked on the axle "U" bolts. While a highway tread, the tires have a M+S designation just like the old Tacoma's" that came off.

The DOT code was 3616 so just at six months old.

I run them truck & 5W, read their warranty they are covered as long as there is tread over 2/32 and under 72 months from purchase date.

Warranty Eligibility

This warranty applies to every Yokohama replacement passenger car, light truck, and temporary spare tire bearing the Yokohama brand name and complete Department of Transportation serial identification number and operated during normal highway use (commercial applications excluded) in the United States. These tires are covered by this warranty for the life of the original usable tread depth (the original tread depth down to the level of treadwear indicators molded at 2/32 inch (1.6 mm) or for 60 months from the date of purchase (proof of purchases required) or 72 months from the date of manufacture (if no proof of purchase available), whichever comes first. This warranty applies only to the original tire purchaser, and is not transferrable to any other party. This time period does not represent the expected service life for tires covered by this warranty.

I have a set of 4 Bridgestone Duravis R250, have over 30,000 plus mil on them an the thread is like new. We made 2 trips cross country with no problem they will be 5yrs old this coming summer. They were new date on them but one it was 6 month that is the most important thing to look for. Keep them to 80psi at all times...

I looked at the r250 and no they don't have much for sipping
will that really make a difference if on the trailers.
I do not want the trailer to slide when wet. I do want safety.
Can't see Michelin making a bad tire, but it does concern me alot..

Well I will likely go with the Yokohama YK-HTX in a 235/85-16 for our Copper Canyon. While the Bridgestone R250 are a highly rated tire both them and the Michelin rib both have open grove water channels neither has much sipping which increases traction on wet pavement. The Yokohama YK-HTX has the sipping, this will help the 5er stop as well as the TV.

I hate to confess this but the current "Tacoma" brand LT 235/85-16E tires currently on the rig are OEM, and are 12 years old! Tread is still good, and one tire is just starting to show age checking at the bead. They actually have a M+S tread design, but pretty tame.
I will just state no tire older than six months.

Just checked, my tire will not be in for 3 to 4 days.
I was checking online for the bridgestone R250s
some reviews are saying only good above 60 degrees and no rain.
Am I making a mistake putting on my 5er. I am moving to klamath falls, and will get cold and rain.
are they not all weather

The 12500 is the the gvwr
the heaviest when weighed is 12,047 lbs
Still under both axle weights

I am almost level when loaded. If I go with the other tires will it lower the 5er much

Maybe look at the 250s

LT215/85-16 E at 2680 lbs capacity 30.5" diameter work great on my 11200 lb trailers 5.2k axles.

LT235/85-16 E at 3042 lbs capacity 31.8" diameter work great on 5.2k and 6k axles.

Your 12500 lb 5th wheel trailer may have a 15-25 percent pin weight = 10625 lbs or 9375 lbs on the trailers four tires.
Or around 2600 lb per tire.
The LT235/85 E gives you a nice reserve capacity.
All above if the 12500 was a actual gross trailer weight or a estimated gross weight.

Your trailer axle rating tells the story there.
