One thing I probably keep saying about This topic is that if you owned an older Srw and buy a new DRW, heck yeah its way better, But I’d bet they’d say the same if they bought a new SRW.
I think one thing that is a difference now is that if Ram Ford or GM says a HD truck will tow 17000 lbs it will and more, if it says the payload is 3800 lbs it will haul that weight safely stock right from the factory.
You don’t need a 20% cushion like days of old. From 2012 or 2013 on till today we are driving the most capable trucks ever.
Another thing. Do you think owning a DRW leads to over confidence? I’ve seen plenty of wrecks lately where the DRW’s are in the accident turned over of the trailer has turned on it side and the truck is still attached.
But there is a point where you need a dually, we all know that. I’m just saying like the big Truck Big RV Guy has a f450 with a trailer any SRW f 350 can tow very safely.
On the converse side the towing capability of a F150 is now more than a Ram 3500 gasser. And we all know that’s ridiculous.
I’m not sure and I’m pretty sure you can’t count on those 1500 series trucks being in the same lane as a 3500 GM Ram or Ford.
Peace
