Let that be your guide.
I would go to a LT TIRE
Having bought MANY sets of tires for trailers, autos, and everything in between, I've never had anyone offer to pay for the damage of a blowout. Of all the discussion on this thread about LT vs. ST, I'd like to see damage repair promise in writing. Maybe I'm wrong on this, so I'll stand corrected if proven so.
I've had tread separation failures on Goodyear Marathons (1996 vintage) in 1999 and Goodyear G614 RSTs (2004 vintage) in 2007. In both cases, Goodyear paid to repair the 5th wheels and replaced the tires. By the way, before anyone asks, tire pressures were checked each morning before we hit the road, and no, back then, we didn't have a TPMS like we do today.
Did Goodyear advertise this up front? No, but they have always stood behind their products in my experience.
Having said that, I've run Michelins (16E XPS Ribs and 17.5J XTAs) on other 5th wheels with never a problem. Although Michelin doesn't have a good reputation about covering tire failure damage, my philosophy in running the Michelins is to buy a tire that has very little likelihood of failing in the first place.
The current Mobile Suites came with 17.5H Goodyear G114s. So far, so good.....
