There are 'surge guards' and then there are 'power protection' devices
Surge Guards.........
Inexpensive, will check for power and trip on 'surge' can check power pedestal for reverse polarity, open neutral and open ground
Power Protection....
More expensive, will check for power, trip on 'surge' and also check reverse polarity, open neutral, open ground, high & low voltage trips, timed delay for A/C compressor, AC Frequency
Very hand device when you use multiple CGs or frequenting the same one over and over..
BUT if you are parking rig st a cg I would not be real concerned.
Check the power pedestal with a volt meter and plug in.
Leave power cord plugged in....just open/close pedestal breaker when you leave/come back
