I am also retired military but I continued to work. I still work part time. What I would do is get a financial analysis done by someone reputable. Get a detailed analysis that will tell you the chances of having enough money to retire. You will need to put together a budget. If you need to purchase a Class A, you should decide how much you want to pay. Then put aside money for maintenance and possible replacement. Decide what you want to do when or if you get off the road and put those costs in there too.
I am not saying you should not full time in your RV. I think it is a wonderful lifestyle. I have a house and travel a lot in the RV but was very tempted to go full time. But you need to have a well thought out plan before you start. For example, you may determine you will need to offset X dollars each year, and you think you can make that money by working on the road. Just take the time to do a good analysis.
