We retired at 47 and hit the road full time. Our plan is/was to see the country, find a place we want to call home, and maybe settle back down and work, either full time or part time. We had planned on maybe two years, max - what we figured was a good amount of time to find a place we like.
We passed our two year anniversary last month. We have planned another two years on the road because there is still so much to see and do. We think maybe next year we will do some work camping but we have been too busy to stop long enough to take a job. We haven't found a place yet that we would like to live as much as we like being on the road so, for now, we continue to live on the road.
My advice would be to try it until you find something you like better. Then try that for a while. Better to do it now, while you can, than to delay it until you can't.
