Time will answer a lot of the concerns and in the mean time we will just have to work within the law that seems to be changing rapidly. Being 62 and running a small business means the law has my attention. We have been able to cut our head cut by not replacing staff that found other employment. BCBS has informed us to expect an 68% increase in health care premiums when we renew next time which is about $14,000 increase so in April we are moving to cut our office rent and may just cancel having an office.
While ACA is stressful it however is forcing us to rethink everything which should be a long term plus. Times are changing period. Fighting change that is going to happen is like of like pushing a log chain uphill perhaps. :)
The key to future health care is to be able to pay for it in cash. If I had known this 20 years ago and acted on it then I would not be concerned about health care going forward as I am today. Fretting today however is just counter productive. We may be going the way of Canada and Europe but from the pictures I see they are coping OK. We have stop living on borrowed money. The only way to cut health care cost is to reduce services rendered. At my age that is not good news but is it far to spend $200K so I can live a few more years at some point or just let me die when my health fails without major intervention. It is kind of like a living will but just kicking in a few years earlier I guess.
Life in the USA will go on. It is just hard for seniors to accept life will gone on but just without us at some point. Something has to be done about spending on borrowed funds.
For the world of business bad knowns can be better and the unknown. RV's need to know they can have basic health care needs met where ever we may be parked.
