Greetings and salutations, My wife and I are retiring at the end of this year and plan on becoming "Long-Timers". The amount of time we'll spend traveling will obviously be influenced by finances. ...
I am guessing that $5-10K is just back up money? The reason I ask is we just had to redo a transmission and that ran $3500 so a large chunk of what you would have saved. Also you are aware that work camping is normally not paid...you get a site, water/power and maybe cable. How are you going to make money to eat, buy gas, medical costs, insurances, sightsee, etc..... Or are you just planning this for like a year and blowing through the $10K and then going back to the rat race?
