Best water pressure regulator?

Hi,

What would be wrong with a 20 GPM model from Home Depot with 3/4" in and out? You can buy brass connections for garden hose in and out, then put it all together for about $50. Then have plenty of flow, while having an adjustable pressure regulator.

We use a watts household type from home depot. While there pick up the whole house water filter and plumb it all inline after your flow valve.

:h What Home Depot did you go to? I priced it out and it came to about $200 with all the necessary parts. :(
Just walked away to look for something that doesn't break the bank.

The Watts pressure regulators for "boilers" are 3 to 10 times than "wholehouse" versions for water only.

We bought ours from The RV Water Filter Store at a rally 9 years ago...use these Watts model numbers for a google search.

Expensive, but will last forever......

I got my 263A from the RV Water Filter Store dot com.. Only $129.93 with shipping to Texas.

According to him "If you choose one of the 263A models I offer, where you put it will make a big determination of the best choice. If going out in the weather, the s/s exterior parts kit gets rid of the standard zinc coated parts that get rusty. The oil filled s/s gauge gets rid of the dry gauge that also deteriorates out in the weather within a year, or so. If going inside, the standard model is fine."

I installed this one from Home-Depot inside. Model # 3/4 lfx65bu. $43.59, set at 50 psi. Works great.

We have the SharkBite® Soloset® EB-25 Pressure Regulator. It has a convenient orange pressure adjustment twist-cap, and numerical indicator on what you want to set the water pressure at. Easy to do. Set it and forget it. Have had it since the summer of 2006.

I cannot recommend a Valterra. I bought a nice one with a gage and it decided to start leaking at a casting joint after about 4 months of fulltime use. Looking at other reviews of that model on Amazon, mine was not the first one to have this problem. I now have a Watts on order from the RV water filter store.
