We are staying there for 4 months this winter and paying around $6,000 (includes all taxes, fees, and electric).
I suspect the land owners are paying around $6000 per year association fees, plus taxes, lot maintenance, and maybe utilities.
The lots are $80,000 and up on the resale list (also seems to be a bunch to chose from so owners want out).
I have found it is much cheaper to rent vacation property than own since it is easier to stop renting if you choose.
The lot owner needs to make their nut during the short peak rental season. You are helping them do that.
