We average about $30 per night. We prefer full hookups. We don't care about amenities like pools and playgrounds. I consider it a game to see how little we can spend on campgrounds. We do not boondock unless we're traveling and just need a place for one night to sleep. We also use Corps of Engineers, state parks, city and county parks, Passport America and Good Sam discounts even help. Some parks don't advertise monthly rates so you have to call and ask. Some charge extra for electricity, some don't again you have to ask. We paid 13 cents per KWH in the winter in FL and that was about $75 per month. We were careful how much we used. We were gone during the day anyhow. We found campgrounds more expensive in certain parts of the country in certain seasons. So we travel opposite of the seasonal travel. For example, we head to TX during January and February when FL campgrounds charge high rates. We don't mind the cold.
