Yes, it's no different proving a domicile in Florida then it is for South Dakota, as an example. I am in process of doing that right now. I will be signing up with a mail forwarding company down here. The address that I receive from them will be shown on my Driver's License, will be used to get tags, for the IRS, etc. Everything.
Texas has them (Escapees comes to mind), South Dakota has them, and so does Florida.
I do think real estate property taxes can be kind of high, but it really depends on where you have property. No income taxes. Sales tax of around 7% (varies by county). No personal property taxes.
