As others have mentioned, when it is time to come off the road, you won't necessarily want to buy a single family home again anyway. We purchased an RV lot two years ago and built a small (600 sq ft) RV port home on it last year. We have only spent about 3 months total there in the last two years but it is nice to know it is there if we need to stop full-timing. We can park the motorhome under the attached 55 foot port and use it as a guest house while living in the port home part.
