$5000 /mon is certainly doable, but as noted there are many different variables that determine if $2000 or $5000 is more realistic. Many fulltimers do it on much less than $5000/mon, some require more than $5000/mon. Where you stay, do you workcamp, how often you move, how far you travel, how often you eat out, what you eat, how you pay for medical, etc etc.
I'm not Canadian, but from reading several Canadian RV'er blogs, I thought you were limited to 6 months continuous visit to the USA each year. Even though some provinces now allow you to be out of the providence for 7 months, the USA non-resident visitor limitation is still 6 months.
