Yes, I did this already, and it came out significantly under 5k/month hence the curiosity if I did this right. Our desired life style isn't very fancy - we just want more opportunity to hike in the nature and comfortable place to watch some TV/work/sleep. Perhaps a nice dining out meals once or twice a week.
