Hello everyone,
Thought I would write to those who gave the wife and I all the great advice for our trip. We took 8 weeks to travel cross country. I know a lot of responders suggested that we take the northern route first and due the southern route on the way home. In looking back I am kind of glad we didn't. We probably would have gotten caught up in all the flooding in the south on the way home. Anyway we had a great time crossing this great country we live in. We visited 5 National parks, 2 National monuments, Sedona, Az, Hoover Dam, Los Angeles, Santa Monica, feet in the Pacific Ocean, Las Vegas, Lambeau Field, Mall of America, Macinac Island, Saulte Ste Marie and scores of the most friendly people we have ever met. Total trip was 10,300 miles on 935 Gallons of fuel and 3 oil changes and one flat tire in the campground.. Can't wait to do it again but the next time we Will stay north and head to Washington and Oregon. Yellowstone was the issue with getting full hookup so we ended up stayin in Idaho an commuting to the west enterance. We will know better the next time!
Again thanks for all your advice and suggestions. We really had a good time.
Bill
Great follow-up.... weather is always a wild card. I agreed with what other posters that had written/suggested about sequencing North first, but sometimes weather can be a tricky variable.
