This last spring we were purchasing a deeded RV lot in Florida for $16,000. The residents formed the corp and controlled fees. The HOA, which included mowing and water was around $125 a month.
The lot was located on a canal and looked like a good long term solution. Then we priced out putting a manufactured home on it with a small car port. The price total soon got up over $130,000.
There were 1700 square foot 3-bedroom homes selling in SW Florida for about the same price. When we started figuring the price of insurance on a manufactured home and other issues, it was a easy decision for us.....we bought a house down here instead.
