There's nothing wrong with not traveling and using a TT or whatever RV as low-cost housing. We see those type of RV's in nearly every RV Park we stay in across the country. Have even seen the mortician drive up and collect a body. It's been that way since long before 1962, especially in areas like California where housing has always been high and Mobile Homes are too costly. Only problem, it gives Trailers as in Trailer Trash a bad name.
We're in the working group. Move from project to project and settle into a community just like a local for the 4-8 mos DH is working. We pay Federal/State income tax, pay local sales tax and help fund the SS of others.
Another few years, we'll both be collecting SS, but think we may continue to do at least one project a year to fund our travels for the rest of the year. Win Win as far as we're concerned.
When we're tired of towing the huge 5er, we'll park it on our RVLot in the south. Then buy a TC to do more travel vacations. We're already planning to live that way until we need assisted living and then move to one of the kids or Gkids.
