If your medicare age you don't need a primary doctor unless you want one any specialist that accepts medicare will take you without a referral. When we lived in Illinois we found a doctor that understood our retirement plans to fulltime we still see him once a year. DW and I have both had non-emergency surgery while on the road because it was convenient. We just googled up the specialists we needed and selected the ones we considered qualified by their training and affiliations.
